Hi, I'm Bec and this is my story.
I'm a perinatal mental health nurse and counsellor — but also a mum who knows firsthand how heavy and overwhelming early motherhood can feel. I live in the little country town of Maryborough with my husband and daughter. And I'm a very simple country gal at heart, feeling most at home going for a walk in the bush or having a meal out with friends.Â
After experiencing my own traumatic birth in 2021, I found healing through birth debriefing and counselling.Â
That journey shaped me not just as a woman, but also as a practitioner. I know how lonely it can feel to hold pain that others don’t see, and I also know the relief of having a safe, non-judgmental space to be heard and supported.
Now, it’s my passion and purpose to create that space for other women — to sit with you in the hard moments, help you untangle what feels too much, and remind you that you don’t have to do this alone.
My professional experience
Alongside my own journey, I’ve been working in the field of perinatal mental health since 2015. In that time, I’ve had the privilege of supporting hundreds of women and families as they’ve navigated the ups and downs of early parenthood — from the exhaustion and identity shifts to the very real challenges of depression and anxiety.
I began my career working directly with women in clinical and counselling roles, walking beside them through some of their most vulnerable seasons. In 2023 I started training other healthcare professionals in perinatal mental health. To make sure they are equipped to offer the kind of care every mum deserves.
This work isn’t just what I do — it’s my life’s work. I’m deeply passionate about ensuring women are truly seen, heard, and supported in motherhood. And it would be honour to work with you in this season of your life.
