Medicare Rebates

Medicare rebates are available for birth & perinatal debriefing and counselling sessions with a referral from your GP.

With this referral, you are entitled to 3 sessions that will attract a Medicare rebate of approximately $72.55 per session for eligible ladies. 

After your appointment and receiving full payment, I will process your Medicare claim. Your rebate will then be paid into your bank account by Medicare (usually within a few business days).

To be eligible you must be pregnant or have been pregnant at any time in the previous 12 months. This means if you have a baby under 1 year of age you are eligible. 

You must obtain your GP referral before the date of your first appointment.

Getting Your GP Referral

Talking to your GP can feel a bit daunting, but mental health is actually one of the most common reasons that people in Australia see their GP. Your GP is likely experienced in having these conversations and can help you get the support you need.

Please note that a Mental Health Care Plan is not required. A standard referral is all that is needed.
